Jochen Zeitz, the former chief executive of Puma, and his successor since July last year, Franz Koch, have received the prestigious Deutsche Image Award, along with Ulf Santjer, the company's long-time director of corporate communications. Since 2002, the prize has been rewarding the German executives and communication teams who best managed their company's image in international media. The jury lauded the Puma trio for aptly getting across the story of the managemen's performance in the last years, as well as its commitment to the protection of the environment. They were also impressed with the way the three executives handled the transition between Zeitz and Koch. Previous winners include managers at Porsche, Henkel, Volkswagen – and Adidas.
