Johan Lövqvist, sales director of Didriksons, will join another Swedish outdoor company, Tenson, as chief executive in October, replacing Hans-Olof Ljungqvist. The move comes just weeks after Johan Vikman, former chief executive of the Fenix group, was placed at the helm of Norrwin, the company that owns Tenson along with Five Seasons and Lundhags, two other Swedish outdoor companies. While Ljungqvist was praised for refreshing the Tenson brand over the last years, Lövqvist will be expected to broaden its international scope, starting with heavier investments in Germany and Scandinavian countries other than Sweden. Vikman was apparently drawn by EQT, the investment firm behind Norrwin, to build up a larger outdoor company of European stature, which should entail further acquisitions in Scandinavia and beyond. More details are provided in the latest issue of The Compass, our outdoor business publication.
