Johan Lindeberg, who gave his name to the J. Lindeberg brand, is returning to the Swedish company as creative director in January, after eight years away from the firm. He will remain in New York but work closely with the Stockholm-based team at J. Lindeberg, which sells fashion as well as golf and skiing apparel. Stefan Engström, the company's chief executive, said in a statement that Lindeberg was returning at a prosperous time for the company, as it doubled its sales in the last three years. Lindeberg started his career as international marketing director at Diesel, the jeans wear label, and later headed its U.S. business. He established J. Lindeberg in 1996 but moved away in 2007, after a sale to Proventus, an investment firm, and Engström, the skier who previously established Peak Performance with Peter Blom. Lindeberg then started working for William Rast, a fashion label, and three years later he switched to a denim and leather label, which he left in May. Jessy Heuvelink remains head of design at J. Lindeberg. Proventus sold its majority stake in 2011 to three Danish investors.
