Johnny Austad plans to leave as chief executive Sport 1 Gruppen, one of Norway's major voluntary chains of sporting goods retailers, at the end of this year, after finding his successor. The 60-year-old manager has led the group, to which 195 stores are affiliated, since its acquisition by Gjelsten Holding seven years ago. He says the group is profitable and well-structured in terms of IT and logistics. Austad plans to work as a consultant to retailers and brand-builders in the future. Before Sport 1, he ran Gresvig and Helly Hansen.
