Kasper Rorsted, chief executive at the Adidas Group, was quoted as saying in Bild am Sonntag during the weekend that the company would have a problem if one of its partners was found guilty of breaking the law. The quote was placed in the context of the Adidas group's partnership with Fifa, the governing organization of international football, and a U.S. investigation into bribery. The first case led to several indictments on corruption-related charges in 2015, and moves by Fifa to overhaul its organization. The first trial to emerge from this investigation started in Brooklyn, involving three former football officials. Adidas has a partnership contract with Fifa running until 2030.
