Kassia Davis has bought the 84-year-old PF Flyers brand of sports shoes from New Balance. She is a daughter of Jim Davis, controlling shareholder and chairman of New Balance, where she worked in a variety of positions for ten years until 2019. She then founded KADA, a brand of sustainable women’s apparel, in May 2020. According to Footwear News, which interviewed her, she plans to revamp PF Flyers’ sneaker line, targeting female consumers, and she is looking for a female CEO to run day-to-day operations. Davis will act as chairwoman. She has appointed D’Wayne Edwards, a former design director for the Jordan brand, as creative director for at least one year, while he continues to run his own company, Pensole. A relaunch of PF Flyers in September is in the pipeline, featuring several classic styles for men, women and children.
