Kering has announced a five-year partnership with the London College of Fashion's Centre for Sustainable Fashion. The collaboration will include a series of annual talks, an annual fashion prize and academic modules focused on green fashion issues. The Kering Talks will take place in October each year, with leaders and visionaries from the fashion industry speaking on the latest developments in sustainable fashion. The inaugural Kering Talk by François-Henri Pinault, Kering's chairman and chief executive, was scheduled for Oct. 29. The Kering Award for Sustainable Fashion, on an annual basis, will require students to provide creative and viable solutions to a project brief defined by Kering. Two winners will be awarded a grant as well as an internship with Kering brands. Finally, Kering and the college will jointly develop academic modules for the sustainable design course, which will also aspire to develop a pioneering academic framework to explore sustainability in fashion.
