Kettler has hired Hans-Martin Reh as a member of its executive board, in charge of sales and marketing at the national and international levels for all its business segments: sports, bikes, garden furniture and children's playgrounds. He takes on many of the responsibilities previously held by Hans-Hermann Deters, who left in mid-2011 to join the executive board of Ara Shoes, a big German shoe company, after four years with Kettler. Reh, who is 49 years old, filled key sales and marketing positions in the sporting goods sector between 1986 and 2010 at Wilson and Nike. He worked for the Swoosh for 14 years, handling most recently tennis, basketball, the Jordan brand, indoor sports and swimwear for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region. He subsequently moved to a toy manufacturer, Schleich, to take care of international development. Reporting to Kettler's chief executive and owner, Karin Kettler, who lives many miles away, Reh will seek to expand the company's leadership in Europe– notably in fitness equipment – and to internationalize the brand further.
