After nearly three months of halted production, Kingmaker’s footwear factory in the Binh Duong Province in southern Vietnam is now ready to restart operations in several phases. The region in which the plant is located has obtained “green zone” status, and over 70 percent of the factory’s employees have received at least one dose of anti-Covid vaccine. It will take time to ramp up the production to former levels in view of social distancing and regular cleaning requirements. Another Kingmaker factory in central Vietnam, where the virus didn’t hit so hard, continued to operate during the Delta variant outbreak, and it took over some of the production in Binh Duong. The company has also shifted some production to its Cambodian factory.
