Lacoste has announced the appointment of Novak Djokovic as its new global brand ambassador. Under the terms of the five-year contract, the world's No. 2 male tennis player, whose deal with Uniqlo has recently expired, will be wearing the French high-end label's products on and off the court. Lacoste has also developed an eponymous line of performance clothing for the player, which will be available in Lacoste stores starting in May, when the Serbian player will be wearing it during the Roland Garros tournament in Paris. The designs feature touches of red, white and blue, colors of both the French and Serbian flags, while Djokovic's signature is printed on the left sleeve of the polo shirt. The accompanying advertising campaign mixes black-and-white footage of Lacoste collections in the 1930s - when the classic L.12.12. polo shirt was launched - with full-color images of current clothing lines.
