Puma has partnered with Sport 2000’s content platform Sneaker Force to bring out the first collection dedicated to a tourist region: The Black Forest region of Germany. The idea of a limited edition was initiated jointly by Sport 2000 and the tourism marketing agency Saint Elmo’s Tourism and its client Schwarzwald Tourismus GmbH.
The three-part collection finds inspiration in the icons of the Black Forest, in particular the cuckoo clock. The first drop will be the Puma x Black Forest Slipstream Lo Kuckuck (the sound a cuckoo makes in German).
The sneaker will be released worldwide on Aug. 12 exclusively and in limited edition at 13 premium sneaker stores in Germany and 5 branches of Pomp It Up in Switzerland, as well as in limited editions in the online shop of Schwarzwald Tourismus GmbH at www.blackforestsneaker.de.
In addition, a Puma x Black Forest pop-up store will open in Tokyo on Aug. 11 and 12 in the trendy Shibuya district.
“It’s not for nothing that the largest non-European group visiting the Black Forest each year comes from Asia. So there is definitely a strong connection,” Michael Kuhls, Division Manager Brand Management at Sport 2000 explains.
Two more models dedicated to the Black Forest will follow in Sept. and Oct. 2023.
