Le Coq Sportif is preparing to take full advantage of investments in its apparel development center in Romilly-sur-Seine, after it sealed an agreement with the French rugby federation to outfit the French rugby team for six years starting from July 2018, taking over from Adidas. It's another high-profile endorsement deal for Le Coq Sportif, which obtained partnerships last year with the football teams of Saint-Etienne in France and Fiorentina in Italy. The brand had a partnership with the French rugby federation until 1975, and again from 1980 until 1986. Airesis, the Swiss holding company that owns 79 percent of Le Coq Sportif, has been investing strongly in the last two years in a textile plant in the small town where the brand was established, near Reims, with some local sourcing and production.
