Spanish trade union Comisiones Obreras (CCOO) has filed a lawsuit against Decathlon, claiming that the sports retailer and manufacturer is “violating the fundamental right to freedom of association.” The complaint was filed on April 3.
Decathlon is also accused of denying the union’s delegates access to information about the working conditions of the staff, violating Article 64 of the Workers’ Statute. Finally, the sports retail chain is accused of retaliating against CCOO with “harmful practices” towards the union’s members, such as assigning them the worst schedules, changing shifts and assigned tasks, and other coercive measures. CCOO described the lawsuit as “a protective complaint.”
