Lenzi Egisto, an important Italian supplier of innovative textiles to the athletic shoe industry, is going into liquidation. Its family shareholders, who refused to inject money into the company after the death of Egisto Lenzi in July 2009, have approved a proposal to split the assets and sell them separately to two other Italian textile groups. LDS Calafuria/Linea Esse, which is owned by the Bini family in Prato, is taking over its textile operations. Another firm is set to acquire its nonwovens operations. Lenzi Egisto employed 106 people at the end of 2012. It made a turnover of around €20 million last year, down from €30 million in 2007.
