
Following a “competitive international recruiting process,” LIV Golf has announced the appointment of Lawrence J. Burian as Chief Operating Officer (COO). In this role, he will oversee a large range of responsibilities, including corporate development and strategy, investor relations, human resources, the successful delivery of LIV Golf’s global schedule of 14 LIV Golf League events, the management and commercialization of the league’s teams, the full integration of the International Series, global impact and sustainability, events, production, information technology, procurement, and general day-to-day business operations.
Burian has extensive experience across the sports, entertainment, media and hospitality sectors. He is a former EVP with the Madison Square Garden (MSG) family of public companies. Prior to that, he worked for a decade at Cablevision Systems Corporation, the former cable, media, sports and entertainment parent company of the MSG businesses. There he played an instrumental role in many of the company’s strategic transactions and initiatives, including the sales of the Fox Sports New England and Fox Sports Bay Area regional sports networks and the Bravo television network, among others. Before joining Cablevision, he was an associate at international law firm Davis Polk & Wardwell, specializing in mergers and acquisitions in both their New York and London offices.
