Lululemon has unveiled its inaugural product crafted from enzymatically recycled polyester, signaling a significant leap in sustainability efforts.
The Packable Anorak, a limited edition release, represents the culmination of a multi-year collaboration with Australian environmental technology startup Samsara Eco. The Packable Anorak boasts a blend of bioprocessing technologies, including Samsara Eco’s enzyme-based recycling and carbon emissions capture from LanzaTech, resulting in a fabric that is lightweight with quick-drying properties.
Yogendra Dandapure, VP of Raw Materials Innovation at Lululemon, articulated the brand’s ambitious vision, stating: “Our goal is to implement these technologies across our entire supply chain to tackle textile waste comprehensively.”
