Lululemon introduces new products developed for female athletes, co-created by 10 female athletes from the brand’s global ambassador collective. The 36 new products ensure they meet the demands of the brand’s own first-of-its-kind ultramarathon for women, titled Further, which begins March 6, just ahead of International Women’s Day.

Designed to keep athletes cool and provide storage solutions for race essentials, the garments and shoes aim to enhance performance throughout a demanding event like a multi-day ultra. The 10 athletes taking part in Further will also utilize a special edition colorway of Lululemon’s new running shoe, the Beyondfeel.

Nikki Neuburger, Lululemon’s Chief Brand Officer, emphasizes the brand’s commitment to addressing historical inequities in athletics. “Women have historically been overlooked and underserved in athletics,” she said. ”As a brand committed to helping all people feel their best, we have a responsibility to create more equity for our communities by investing to close this gap.”

The Further initiative showcases the determination of the 10 athletes who will strive to surpass their personal distance records during the race. Taking place on a certified looped course in La Quinta, California, participants have the opportunity to set world records based on distance and time, including the chance to surpass the men’s six-day world record. This endeavor could mark the first time a woman establishes the current overall ultrarunning distance world record.
