Macron has announced technical sponsorship contracts with two more football teams, FC Wacker from Innsbruck, Austria and Clubbe Brugge from Bruges in Belgium. Their kits were previously supplied by Jako and Nike, respectively. The new agreements are for five and three years, respectively. With more than 50 football clubs under contract, the Italian company claims it is now the 4th largest technical sponsor in the European football market, behind Nike, Adidas and Puma. The company, which had a turnover of more €70 million last year, had a sudden flash of notoriety with the election of Emmanuel Macron as the new president of France earlier this month, through it has nothing to do with him or his family. The company's name was picked to make a contrast with the word “micron.”
