Maier Sports, the German outdoor and snow sports apparel brand, won the German Brand Award 2016 in the category of sports, outdoor activities & leisure. According to the jury, Maier Sports was awarded because the brand is seen as a pioneer in the field of PFC-free alternatives for durable water repellency, among other reasons. Brands can only take part in the competition if they were nominated by the German Brand Institute.
