Mammut Sports Group, the Swiss outdoor company, has acquired Outdoor Elements, the British importer of Mammut’s footwear brand Raichle, and named it Mammut UK. It will be in charge of distributing both Mammut and Raichle.
DMM International, the Welsh manufacturer of climbing equipment, however, will continue to distribute Mammut ropes on the British Isles. Mammut distributes DMM equipment in Austria, and the two companies share the same distributor in the Benelux countries. There will be no changes at Toko, Mammut’s brand for ski wax and winter sport goods, which continues to be represented in the U.K. by Mastco, a company that also distributes Völkl in the region.
In Germany, meanwhile, Mammut’s second store was opened just a few days ago. It has a surface of 180 square meters and is in the Bavarian town Bad Tölz between Munich and the Alps. Like the first German store in Kempten/Bavaria, which opened last year, the store in Bad Tölz is not operated by the Swiss brand itself, but by a local retailer, Intersport Peter.
