Sustainable apparel manufacturer Interloop has announced a US$35.2m investment to develop a readymade garments production site in Egypt. The 60,000-sqm. plant, located in the Al-Qantara West Industrial Zone, will be fully export-oriented.

Located in Egypt’s Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), the new facility is expected to strengthen Interloop’s ability to serve global customers with competitive costs and shorter lead times, with a focus on key markets in the US, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

The new facility will generate more than 1,000 new jobs, said Interloop.

Including this new project, Interloop’s manufacturing network will extend across Pakistan, China, Sri Lanka and Egypt, supported by sales offices in North America, Europe and Japan. Interloop’s corporate office is located in Khurrianwala, near the city of Faisalabad, Pakistan.
