Marcos Garzo has been appointed to act as the new general manager of Nike Iberia from Aug. 1, covering Spain and Portugal, replacing Carlos Homedes who is set to move to Beaverton in August to run the brand’s global football business. Nike points out that Garzo has held a range of critical positions at Nike since joining the company in 1995. He has been marketing director of Nike Iberia and has held two tenures at Nike Europe in The Netherlands, serving most recently as retail brand presentation director for Western Europe. A 16-year veteran of Nike, Homedes ran the Nike business in Spain and Portugal for the past five years. In Beaverton, he will succeed Davide Grasso, promoted to vice president of global brand marketing, and he will report to him.
