Sales of e-bikes in Europe grew by 23 percent in 2019, and exceeded for the first time the milestone of 3 million units sold annually. E-bike sales accounted for 17 percent of total bicycle sales last year. These figures were recently announced by the Confederation of the European Bicycle Industry (CONEBI) in its annual report, based on data from its national associations. CONEBI expects e-bike sales to reach 6.5 million units in 2025, which means it is predicting that sales will more than double within the next five years. Meanwhile, the production of e-bikes in Europe jumped by nearly 60 percent in 2019 as compared to 2018, said the organization. The full report is available to CONEBI’s members.
