Volume 2 of “Sporting Goods Industry Dynamics” by Eugenio Di Maria is now available

In early June 2025, the second and final volume of Sporting Goods Industry Dynamics was released, offering a comprehensive analysis of current trends and structural shifts in the global sporting goods and outdoor industries. Authored and published by Eugenio “Gene” Di Maria, founder of SGI Europe and The Outdoor Industry Compass, the book draws on more than 40 years of journalistic experience and research.

The new volume builds on the historical and strategic insights of the first volume, moving into present-day challenges such as supply chain disruptions, de-risking from China, verticalization and the evolving role of retail and e-commerce. It also covers brand histories, corporate strategies, sourcing transformations and the growing relevance of sustainability and re-commerce.

“Analyzing the dynamics of the sporting goods and outdoor industry through case histories helps provide useful answers,” stated Di Maria, pointing to examples such as diversification risks and the balance between fashion and performance.

Supported by organizations including WFSGIFESI and EDM Publications, the print-only work, with more than 500 pages, is aimed at executives, consultants and investors. Available in a limited premium edition, the original price of the two-volume set has been reduced by 15 percent to €238. The unit price goes down to €188 for orders of three copies or more.
