Masato Mizuno, the former chairman and representative director of Mizuno Corporation, has reached his goal to become the chief executive of the Tokyo 2020 Bid Committee, appointed by the executive board of the Japanese Olympic Committee, where he already acts as vice president. To avoid conflicts of interest, the affable 68-year-old manager stepped down from his position at Mizuno as of Sept. 5. He will try to get the Summer Olympics back to Japan, where they have not been held since 1964. The 1998 Winter Games took place in Nagano. Mizuno will now have two representative directors: Akito Mizuno, who is also president, and the newly appointed Jotaro Ueji, executive vice president.
