Michael Dannhauser has been appointed to the new position of chief operating officer for the Uvex Sports Group, joining its chief executive, Christophe Weissenberger, on its executive board. Besides supervising its factories and other operational processes, he will also have responsibility for finance and controlling, following the departure last February of the former chief financial officer, Falk Pewestorf. Dannhauser previously worked for Rosenthal, the Raps Group and W. Schilling, a German furniture company where he served most recently as commercial managing director. The Uvex Sports Group, which produces sports eyewear and helmets under the Uvex and Alpina brand names, raised its sales by 3 percent to €125.8 million in its last financial year. It belongs to Uvex Winter Holding, which is also involved in safety items and sunglasses under the Heckel, Laservision and Filtral brand names.
