Michal Zbierajewski, a former manager of Sanita's production facilities in Poland, has teamed up with a Danish partner for the launch in Europe of a a new disc-based shoe lacing system, called Uturn. Developed by a Korean sports technology company, ShinKyung, it is said to be more stable, functional and easier to use than the former Puma Disc and the Boa lacing system. It has already been used by a Danish brand of safety footwear, The system consists of a wheel that is turned in one direction to tighten a wire and in the other direction to loosen it, without letting in sand or other agents. It is said to be ideal for industrial shoes, winter sports boots, children's shoes and for people with limited mobility in their hands.
