Michel Perraudin, former executive board member at Adidas and current board chairman of Odlo, is part of a group of investors who have acquired a minority stake in Ameo. That is the German company behind the Power Breather, a breathing device for swimmers that won the Ispo Brand New Award in 2012 and will hit the market in May. The Power Breather allows swimmers to breathe fully under water without the restrictions that come with detachable snorkels. It uses a special membrane that optimizes air flow, so that inhalation and exhalation go through different channels. The company says that the German-made device particularly helps to make training more effective. The investment was made through a capital infusion by an ad hoc group of a dozen families and individuals.
