Mikkel Christensen, former general manager of the Adidas Group in Denmark, has been appointed at the helm of H²O, the Danish sports apparel brand that changed ownership in August. Christensen left Adidas at the end of last month, to be replaced by Thomas Schwartz, former field sales manager for Denmark. The move comes after the sale of H²O by Active Sportswear, the Danish multi-brand owner and distributor that had rescued the company from bankruptcy four years ago. The brand was acquired by a group consisting of a Danish investment firm, a supplier of private label products and two individuals. One of them is Christian Trads Hansen, a former buyer of sports products at Dansk Supermarked; the other could not be named at the time of the deal due to current employment but turned out to be Christensen. He will focus on H²O's sales and marketing, while Trads Hansen will be in charge of sourcing.
