Mohamed Dia, a designer from Mali who has participated in the design of NBA shirts in the U.S., has launched a line of sports apparel made of bamboo and other “sweet” materials, called Dia 7, in collaboration with the French studio of Jean-Luc Errant, which has developed an ultra-technical line of urban cycling clothes, called Doyouvelo. Dia 7 has signed a contract to supply shoes and clothing to the French Ski Federation for use off the ski slopes over the next five years. The contract was obtained by Patrick Fayolle, a former ski racer who is in charge of sourcing for Dia 7 as well as Doyouvelo. He worked previously for Rossignol, Elan and Belfe.
