More than 20,000 tourists head to Peru every year to surf at beaches such as Punta Rocas, Chicama and Cabo Blanco, according to Eduardo Ferreyros, the minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism. He said most of them visited from the U.S., Australia and Brazil. He also singled out the surfboard manufacturing industry, noting that last year the country exported 6,000 surfboards and accessories with a value of more than $550,000.
