Nautilus has promoted Rob Murdock to senior vice president of innovation, a new position, while Brian Pope has been appointed vice president and general manager of the direct market. Murdock, who joined Nautilus in 2005, will be responsible for all the aspects of the product development process for the Nautilus, Bowflex, Schwinn and Universal brands, and will also oversee the Nautilus Innovation Center team. Murdock was named an executive officer in 2012, after holding multiple positions in the direct market division and assuming the role of vice president and general manager of direct in 2011. Pope will be responsible for the direct channel globally. He will oversee sales and marketing, customer acquisition, customer care and post-purchase customer experience. Prior to joining Nautilus, Pope served as chief marketing officer for Samsung SmartThings. He also served as interim chief marketing officer for Planet Fitness, and held senior marketing roles at Virgin Group, Popchips and Universal Studios. Pope has also led IMG's Branded Entertainment consulting practice, and has therefore extensive experience in developing entertainment sponsorship platforms, integrations and digital content strategies.
