Nautilus saw its revenues increase by 19.7 percent to $70.7 million for the third quarter. An increase of 24.3 percent in direct sales to $42.9 million was driven by demand for the Bowflex Max Trainer range, while cardio products and Select Tech dumbbell sales supported a retail sales gain of 9.6 percent to $25.7 million. The fitness equipment group's gross margin improved by 250 basis points to 51.2 percent. Operating income from continuing operations reached $6.4 million, up by 49.2 percent, thanks in part to stronger leverage of the supply chain. Net income reached $3.7 million, up from nearly $2.5 million for the same quarter last year. For the first three quarters, sales surged by 26.2 percent to $226.6 million, while operating income soared by 78.3 percent and net income from continuing operations landed at $17.0 million, up from $9.9 million. Nautilus said it was encouraged by the initial response to a new product range featuring enhanced connectivity and more interactive personalized workouts that will be launched in the coming months.
