New Balance continues to add new football properties. It has signed up the Scottish champion, Celtic FC, replacing Nike as the official sponsor of the Glasgow club for five years from the 2015/16 season. New Balance is only about 20 years younger than the Celtic team, which was founded by Irish immigrants in 1888. As reported in the last year, New Balance is taking over the sponsorship of the Liverpool team and many others that were previously endorsed by its subsidiary Warrior Sports. At least one team, the Shamrock Rovers club in Dublin, will continue with Warrior for the next playing season.
