New Balance has kicked off a month-long campaign for December in recognition of Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving fueled by social media, now in its fourth year. For each #NBgivesback Twitter or Instagram post presenting a consumer's shoe donation to an organization of their choice, the brand will donate $5.00, with a maximum of $100,000, to Good Sports to help supply new sports and fitness equipment for children in disadvantaged communities across the U.S. The promotion began on Giving Tuesday, which in the U.S. is the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, and will continue through the month of December. To participate, consumers may select an organization or donation point of their choice, take a photo of the shoes they are donating, and post it to Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #NBgivesback. During the whole month a number of Team NB members will be posting their own photos to promote the donation campaign. Among them are track and field athletes Jenny Simpson, Emma Coburn, and Trayvon Bromell, tennis star Heather Watson, and other Team NB champions.
