New Balance has launched in the U.K. the Blackout Squad competition. Through this scheme, amateur football players are offered a chance to join a select group who will trial the brand's football boots, just like professional players sponsored by New Balance. The competition is run in partnership with www.prodirectsoccer.com. The sign-up stage began on March 9 and will close on Apr. 6. To earn a place on the Blackout Squad, applicants are asked to share their views on New Balance Football through social networks. Squad members will be given exclusive New Balance products all season, and will trial new boots before these reach the shelves.
