Kevin Tice is taking over as chief executive and president of Apex Ski Boots after several years at the company, most recently as chief operating officer and chief financial officer. He takes over from Denny Hanson, who co-founded the Apex ski boot brand in Boulder in 2006. Tice is also on the board of directors of the Apex Sports Group, and an active investor in the company.

Separately, Brian Ellwood has been appointed director of business operations for Apex. He was previously in property management, dealing with residential real estate. The company further announced the expansion of its sales team with three extra representatives in North America, all previously selling Dalbello ski boots.

Apex boots are distributed in Europe through Sportcountry, a Swiss company which predominantly sells them in the U.K., the Benelux countries, Switzerland and Germany. The business is led by Christian Maag, the son of Fredy Maag, a former ski instructor, who teamed up with Hanson several decades ago when he established the Hanson rear-entry ski boot brand.
