After reporting the appointment of a new European sales and marketing director (see our previous issue), Puma has announced the appointment of Anne-Laure Descours to the new position of chief sourcing officer, giving her a seat on its management board. She will also be responsible for sustainability at the group and will continue to work from Hong Kong. The appointment takes effect on Feb. 1.
Descours, 53, has been with Puma since 2012, overseeing product development and sourcing for apparel and accessories worldwide. She previously worked at Li & Fung and Otto International, two big sourcing companies based in Hong Kong.
Meanwhile, Lars Radoor Sørensen, Puma's chief operating officer, has decided in concert with the supervisory board to step down and relinquish his board membership on Jan. 31. He will be pursuing other interests. Sørensen was hired by Puma in 2013 and rose to managing director the following year. As chief operating officer, he handled sourcing, IT and logistics.
The IT and logistics departments will now be reporting to Michael Lämmermann, the chief financial officer of Puma.
