Nigel Musto, vice chairman of Musto, has regained the top management position at the family company in which Phoenix Equity partners took a controlling interest in August 2007. He has replaced Andy Towne, the former Reebok executive who was appointed managing director of Musto shortly after the change of ownership. Towne has left the company for personal reasons, but there will be no change in its new strategic direction (see SGI Europe of May 14). Sarah Lawrenson remains in charge of product development. On the other hand, Musto has announced the appointment of a new marketing manager, Mostyn Thomas, who replaces the departed Neythan Hayes. Thomas was previously marketing director of Canterbury Europe, whose operations have been downsized and taken over by JD Sports Fashion (see latest issue of SGI Europe).
