Nike and its subsidiary Cole Haan have decided to stop selling shoes made with exotic animal skins. Some of the examples that Nike cited in its new policy are alligator, crocodile, lizard, snake, ostrich, fish and marine mammals. The decision comes in the wake of an investigation by the activist group PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) into the suffering of animals that are used in the industry.
