Nike EMEA has appointed Stefan Laban as general manager of its equipment division, replacing Pat Zeedick who has moved back to Portland to head up the brand’s global equipment business. Zeedick was also specifically in charge of women’s fitness at the European office. Laban, who joined Nike from Escada five years ago, has been acting lately as Nike’s European retail director. He is replaced in this Dutch-based post by Sergio Bucher, who held a similar position at Nike Iberia. In Germany, meanwhile, Nike Deutschland has appointed Bahri Kurter as its new sales director. The former Procter & Gamble manager joined Nike EMEA in 2003 where he has been serving as European strategic account director, in charge of the buying groups Intersport and Sport 2000. Kurter will replace Michaela Stitz who will assume a position yet to be defined at Nike’s European headquarters in Hilversum.
