Nike has announced that it will continue to support Lance Armstrong and his Livestrong Foundation, which serves cancer survivors, in spite of the recent decision by the U.S. anti-doping agency (USADA) to ban him from cycling for life. USADA also expects the International Cycling Union, cycling's governing body, to strip Armstrong of his seven Tour de France titles. The American athlete had been dealing with doping claims since 1999 and had just announced that he would stop fighting allegations, leading to the anti-doping agency's ruling to ban him. Other sponsors have decided to stand by him nonetheless, including Anheuser-Busch and Oakley. Nike, which will not release figures for their athlete endorsements, is Armstrong's major sponsor. Armstrong has been a Nike-sponsored athlete since 1996.
