Nike has announced that over the next five years, it will invest $50 million toward encouraging American schoolchildren to be more active, including through Let's Move!, the program spearheaded by First Lady Michelle Obama. Nike made the announcement at an event in Chicago attended by Obama and featuring athletes such as Serena Williams, Bo Jackson, Paul Rodriguez, Gabby Douglas and Sarah Reinertsen with almost 6,000 schoolkids. Nike will be working through Let's Move! Active Schools, which is designed to bring physical activities back to schools, offering simple steps and tools to help them create more active environments.
