Nike has delayed the launch of its latest basketball shoe, the LeBron 12, citing “a small cosmetic issue.” The new model was scheduled to become available at retail in China on Oct. 1 and elsewhere in the world on Oct. 11. An earlier model of the LeBron was recently estimated to be Nike's best-selling basketball shoe, but the player himself, LeBron James, did not wear it consistently, citing problems of sizing and fit. Nike has confirmed that James will wear the new model when he resumes playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers at the start of the NBA season on Oct. 28. James was ranked as “the most powerful athlete” in the U.S. on and off the field, ahead of Russell Wilson and Kevin Durant, by Horrow Sports Ventures in collaboration with MVPindex and Bloomberg Sports.
