Nike has extended its partnership with the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), the women's professional soccer league, through the 2019 season. As part of a wide relationship that started in 2012, Nike is the official uniform, apparel and equipment provider for all nine NWSL clubs, and it will outfit any future teams. Nike has taken part in the rising popularity of women's soccer through its sponsorship of the NWSL as well as the women's U.S. national team, since 1995. Enthusiasm for U.S. women's soccer was supported by the national team's World Cup victory earlier this year. Featuring 57 players from 11 countries, the league saw its average attendance increase by 29 percent this year, reaching a season record of 454,100 supporters. Nike sponsors most of the current U.S. team players and many players in the NWSL, such as Crystal Dunn, Alyssa Naeher, Christen Press, Carli Lloyd, Alex Morgan and Hope Solo.
