Nike has signed a four-year partnership deal with Tencent that makes the American brand the exclusive, official apparel and footwear partner of League of Legends Pro League (LPL) in China. League of Legends, a popular online multiplayer videogame, is made by Riot Games, a subsidiary of Tencent Holdings. Starting this year, and until 2022, Nike will provide game-day clothing and footwear for all the 16 competitive video-gaming teams of the LPL, with plans to develop new customized physical training programs for e-sports gamers in the future.
