Nike is introducing the Air Max Dn, described by the brand as “the next era of Air.” Appearing for the first time in this shoe model is a feature called Dynamic Air, a dual-chamber, four-tubed Nike Air unit. As the wearer moves, air flows between the tubes in each chamber. This setup is said to allow air to respond to the pressure as the wearer moves, delivering a smooth sensation with every step. The two chambers are purposely tuned with higher pressure in the back two tubes (15 psi) and lower pressure in the front two tubes (5 psi).
A TPU shank arch clip provides support around the midfoot, while a TPU heel counter supports the Achilles. Injected Phylon foam surrounds the air unit, and a rubber outsole wraps around the heel to provide traction and durability.
The shoe was a collaborative endeavor between Nike designers, engineers and scientists at Nike Air Manufacturing Innovation (Air MI) and the Nike Sport Research Lab (NSRL).
The Nike Air Max Dn is slated for release, in adult and youth sizes, on nike.com and through Nike retail on March 26, as part of Air Max Week 2024.
