Nike is launching the EK Umoja line, a capsule collection of running footwear and apparel that celebrates the world’s greatest marathoner, Eliud Kipchoge. Umoja means “unity” in Kipchoge’s native Swahili.
Each collection item features colors and graphics inspired by the marathoner’s first World Championship victory in the 5,000 meters in Paris in 2003. The collection comprises five Nike running footwear silhouettes: the Nike Alphafly 2, Nike Vaporfly 3, Nike Zoom Fly 5, Pegasus 40 and Nike Victory track spike. In apparel, it includes the Nike Windrunner jacket, Nike Rise 365 tee, Nike Stride 7-inch short and a Nike Dri-FIT tee. The medial midsole of each shoe and each apparel item in the collection feature a graphic print in Kipchoge’s handwriting that reads “No Human is Limited,” his personal mantra.
Kipchoge is a four-time Olympic champion and has won a medal at every Games he has competed in since Athens 2004. He also owns the world record for the marathon and has won ten World Marathon Major titles.
