Nike has teamed up with Piñatex on the “Happy Pineapple” pack, a collection of sneakers that use a pineapple-based material. The silhouettes featured in the new pack include the Nike Air Force 1, Free Run Trail, Air Max 95, Air Max 90 and Air Zoom-Type. All the five silhouettes are made from Piñatex, produced as a by-product of pineapple harvesting to provide an alternative to leather. Piñatex has been used in key parts of the shoes alongside other eco-friendly materials like cork.
