Nike was relieved when U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents seized 135,000 pairs of fake Air Jordans, carrying a retail value of $16 million. The 15 cargo containers carrying the shoes reportedly originated in China. Six men from China, Mexico and the USA are being charged with attempting to traffic counterfeit goods and conspiring to bribe an official. If they are found guilty, the men could face a 5-year prison sentence and a fine of $250,000.
